In the World – everlasting

By Debby Coughlan, in In the World

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.”  ~ Isaiah 40:28

We live in a world where sometimes things come and go too easily. The batteries in the remote control die, the toaster breaks, and our brand new cell phone is quickly replaced by a newer, shinier model. Even the most riveting novels must at some point come to an end.

Yet, as we learn in this verse from Isaiah, God is everlasting.

God was. God is. God always will be. God doesn’t break, or grow tired, or fizzle out.

So, even when we struggle to understand God in the midst of our “come and go” days, it’s okay. Because God meets us wherever we are.

That’s everlasting.
